Kevin Bennett is a native of North Carolina. He and his wife, Lynn, of Asheville, NC, have two children – daughter Jessica and son Hunter. Kevin spent his childhood years on a small family ‘farm’ in Canton, NC. After graduating from Pisgah High School, He attended Western Carolina University in Cullowhee NC where he was a member of the football team and track team. Following graduation, he was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the US Army. He spent 8 years in active military service, including one combat tour with the 101st Airborne Division during Operation Desert Storm, where he received the Bronze Star for actions while engaged in combat against an enemy of the United States. Towards the end of his tour in the US Army, God redeemed Pastor Kevin from a life of sin and debauchery, and called him to a life of pastoral ministry. After leaving the military, Pastor Kevin graduated from Southwest Seminary in Jennings, LA. His first ministry calling was to Bent Creek Baptist Church in Asheville, NC where he served as the Pastor of Youth and College Students until November 2001 when he was called as Pastor of the Mountain View Church. Under Pastor Kevin’s leadership God has greatly blessed the Mountain View family of faith. In 5 years, the active membership has grown from 50 to 600, and continues to experience growth. He describes his current ministry experience as the most challenging and rewarding time of his life.
